WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS… WE PAINT THEM YELLOW!
Do you ever feel that life moves so fast, you hardly find time to truly recharge?
As women: mothers, daughters, partners, professionals – we naturally wear so many hats and carry countless responsibilities, often with love and strength. Yet sometimes, we lose our balance, our energy runs low, and we may even experience fatigue or physical discomfort.
Deep down, you probably know: to keep up with the daily rush, you need more. More energy, more inspiration, and a quiet moment just for you.
When I picked up the paintbrush again after years of creative stillness, in the middle of a hectic period, I slowly felt myself filling up again with positive energy. From head to body. From must to want. From overthinking to truly seeing.
Experimenting with shapes, mixing colors, searching for harmony and composition, it brought stillness and inner healing.
What started as a rediscovered hobby grew into a full career change and a leap into the colorful and adventurous unknown. And now, dear woman, I want to give you the same: a creative escape – a way to pause and recharge.
Research shows that creative hobbies like painting reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen feelings of connection and self-confidence.
I see this magic happen in my workshops: women describe painting as “soothing”, “healing”, “a way to process thoughts and emotions”, or simply as “being completely away for a while” – that beautiful flow state.
Imagine it: escaping the daily noise, holding a paintbrush, and watching colors blend naturally on canvas.
Abstract painting helps you slow down, let go, and reconnect with your creativity.
Would you like to experience it too? In my colorful studio in the heart of Leiden?
In my art studio, I offer painting classes and abstract art workshops created especially for women.
You’ll learn to create freely, without rules: playing with your own themes, colors, and forms – while developing your unique artistic style.
Under my guidance, a self-taught abstract artist, you’ll paint in a warm, safe environment where there’s space for relaxation, expression, and connection.
For women who want to get a taste of abstract art, I offer one-time workshops. For those who wish to explore and grow creatively on a deeper level, I offer weekly painting classes.

Where: My studio in Leiden (Morsstraat 21A) or at a location of your choice
Price: €65 per person (includes all materials, guidance, drinks & small snacks)
Join me for a moment filled with color, creativity, and calm. My abstract art workshops are designed for women who want to reconnect with their inner artist, create freely, and enjoy a fun, inspiring atmosphere.
You’ll learn how to express your emotions, ideas, and themes through color and form, and take home your own unique abstract painting on canvas.
My workshops range from insight-based sessions, (like ‘’Reconnect Your Heart with Art‘’) to lighter, playful ones (like ‘’Abstract Artist in a Day‘’).
For groups who wish to dive deeper into theory and meaning, there’s room for that too. With my background as an MSc in Public Administration, I’ve always loved learning and continue to bring that curiosity into my artistic practice. I’ll take you on a journey through abstract art history and introduce you to artists who shaped this form. From Helen Frankenthaler and Agnes Martin to Mondrian, Kandinsky, and Pollock. Together, we create our own piece of art inspired by them, to take home.
These workshops are perfect for:
- Women who want to explore painting from their inner world;
- Beginners or creatives curious about abstract art;
- Friends, family, or colleagues who want to share a creative and relaxing experience.
Everything you need is provided: canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, coffee, tea, and something sweet. All you need to bring is yourself, your sparkle, and your creativity.

FAQ – Weekly Abstract Painting Classes in Leiden
Workshops take place every Thursday from 10:00–13:00 and/or 13:00–16:00 at my studio (Morsstraat 21A). The weekly painting class takes place every Friday morning from 10:00–12:00 at the same location.
Not at all. My classes are suitable for all levels: from complete beginners to women with some experience in abstract painting. Everyone works at her own pace, on her own piece, with personal guidance. You only need an open mind and a love for abstract art.
For the workshop, you don’t need to bring anything: everything will be ready for you when you arrive. For the weekly class, you’ll receive a clear materials list after registration, including study quality acrylic paints, brushes, paper/canvas, etc. You can also start with what you already have or choose higher (artist) quality materials.
Groups are small (3 to 8 women), ensuring calm, attention, and personal support for everyone.
Classes and workshops are taught in Dutch, but I also speak English, so international participants are welcome to join.
It’s best to treat your weekly class as a special moment for yourself. But if you need to miss a session, no problem. As long as you let me know at least two hours beforehand, you won’t be charged for the missed class.
Yes. For those who want to dive deeper and work one-on-one, private sessions are available. We will first discuss your goals to make sure I can offer what you are looking for. Pricing depends on duration and focus.
Yes. My studio/gallery is located in the city center of Leiden, near Beestenmarkt and Haarlemmerstraat. There’s bicycle parking right outside the building and in the street, and paid parking at the Morspoort parking garage (just a 2-minute walk).
My studio is located on the first floor of a charming old building, accessible only by stairs, and unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or those with limited mobility.
